About Alivo 500mg Tablet
LEVOFLOXACIN is an antibiotic that belongs to the third generation of fluoroquinolones. It is a highly effective antibiotic that works against a variety of bacteria. LEVOFLOXACIN is used in a variety of bacterial infections most importantly acute pneumonia (Lung infection), bronchitis (Inflammation of lung passages), skin infections, as well as urinary tract infection. A bacterial infection is a condition in which bacteria grows in the body and cause infection. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly.

- Pneumonia (Fluid buildup in lungs).
- Chronic bronchitis (swelling of airways and lung passages).
- Prostatitis (swelling of prostrate gland).

Medicinal Benefits of Alivo 500mg Tablet
LEVOFLOXACIN is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections resulting in pneumonia (Fluid build up in the lungs), urinary tract infection, bladder infection, prostate gland infection as well as skin infections. LEVOFLOXACIN inhibits the growth of bacteria that are then destroyed by the immune cells of our body. LEVOFLOXACIN also kills bacteria by disrupting their inner cellular contents thus fights infection, with lesser chances of causing bacterial resistance to it as compared to other antibiotics.
Directions for Use
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water at the start of a meal or slightly before. Space the doses evenly during the day, at least 4 hours apart. Do not chew or crush it. If you cannot swallow the tablet as a whole, you may break the pill into half and take both halves one at a time.
Side Effects of Alivo 500mg Tablet
Most of LEVOFLOXACIN associated side effects do not require immediate attention and over time eventually, resolve. Nevertheless, if the side effects are persistent, contact your doctor. Some common side effects,
Nausea, vomiting.
Diarrhea, constipation, indigestion.
Trouble sleeping.
Some individuals may be allergic to levofloxacin or any ingredient present within this medicine. Tell your doctor if you have an allergy to any antibiotic or in particular, the LEVOFLOXACIN antibiotic community. It is not imperative that everyone experiences these effects but if any of side effects persist then doctors consultation is required.

Drug Warnings
Do not take LEVOFLOXACIN if you are allergic or have had a severe reaction to any fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as delafloxacin, gemifloxacin, ofloxacin, moxifloxacin, and ciprofloxacin. Taking LEVOFLOXACIN may increase the chances of developing tendinitis (swelling of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle) or have a tendon rupture (tearing of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle). Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant, kidney disease, a joint or tendon disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disorder of joints causing pain, swelling, and loss of function), seizures (fits), epilepsy or if you participate in regular physical activity. Taking LEVOFLOXACIN may worsen muscle weakness in people with myasthenia gravis (a nervous system disorder that causes muscle weakness) and cause severe difficulty breathing or death. Dairy products should be avoided along with LEVOFLOXACIN. And also, exposure to sunlight should be avoided while taking LEVOFLOXACIN as it may cause increased phototoxicity or photosensitivity. Patients with epilepsy and irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation) should tell their doctor before taking LEVOFLOXACIN.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction:
Following drugs should not be taken alongside LEVOFLOXACIN: Pain-relieving (NSAIDs), Acidity relievers (cimetidine), Anti-tuberculosis drugs (probenecid), Immunosuppressant drugs (cyclosporin), Anti-bacterial drugs (macrolides), Blood sugar lowering drugs (insulin, glibenclamide) & Blood thinners (warfarin),anticonvulsant medications (Phenytoin, valproate).
Drug-Disease Interaction:
LEVOFLOXACIN should be taken only after doctors consultation in conditions like Swollen intestines (colitis), Weak muscles (myasthenia gravis), Swollen tendons (tendonitis), High blood sugar (diabetes), hemodialysis (kidney dialysis), Kidney dysfunction as well as disease of nerves.
Safety Advice
ALCOHOL

Alcohol is not known to cause any unpleasant side effects if taken along with LEVOFLOXACIN. But intake of alcohol with LEVOFLOXACIN may damage your liver. So intake of LEVOFLOXACIN should be avoided with LEVOFLOXACIN.
PREGNANCY

It is not known whether LEVOFLOXACIN will affect pregnant women or fetus or not. Hence, the intake of LEVOFLOXACIN should be avoided if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant unless your doctor recommends otherwise.
BREAST FEEDING

Before taking this drug doctor's consultation is mandatory.LEVOFLOXACIN is excreted in human milk. But the amount of LEVOFLOXACIN absorbed by the nursing infant is unknown.
DRIVING

After taking this drug, you can experience side effects like feeling dizzy, tired, and a spinning sensation (vertigo) or alterations in your vision. If this occurs, do not drive or perform any work that requires high level of concentration.
LIVER

LEVOFLOXACIN to be taken with caution, especially if you have a history of liver diseases/conditions. Your doctor may have to adjust the dose if there are symptoms of nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dark-colored urine, yellowing of or skin/eye.
KIDNEY

LEVOFLOXACIN to be taken with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may have to be adjusted by your doctor.
